Seriously slow at around 15-30FPS with all back-ends except Direct3D 11, which of course, is just slower. Shading and light kind of takes away the textures. Playable: More CPU karts on screen greatly reduces the speed performance. Works fine and is playable all time, but with any slowdowns. Using DSP LLE interpreter reduces framerate to 40~60FPS and audio becomes choppy. Using DSP LLE recompiler solves this issue. The only way to fix this issue, is by restarting the Dolphin emulator. Note: If using DSP HLE emulation, music will stop working after first loop during race. All other Dolphin settings are set to default. My optimal settings: Internal Resolution: 3x Native (2x or 1x Native for Splitscreen), Anisotropic Filtering: 16x, Fullscreen Resolution 2800x1800, DSP Emulator Engine: DSP LLE recompiler, Audio Backend: XAudio2. Intro movie does not display, and must be skipped by pressing start (this issue is not present on 50Hz PAL). Splitscreen is more intensive, dropping to 50FPS unless enhancements are lowered (e.g. Single player runs smoothly at 60FPS, excluding minor framerate drops during openings for circuits. Works at full speed, 60FPS most of the time.Īfter changing audio emulation to LLE recompiler, the game work perfect. Works fine, but not 100% full speed, maybe 85%ĥ0-60FPS with D3D9 plugin EFB copies disabled, texture accuracy fastest, disabled fog, fast mipmaps, OpenCL and OpenMP, skip EFB access from CPU, ignore format changes, cache display lists, 640x480 With Direct3D11 perfect but bad performance with D3D9 Mario Kart Wii works way better, which is kind of ironic. I have confirmed that my dedicated GPU is being used, and not my integrated graphics.Īny assistance in isolating the issue would be greatly appreciated. To check if there was a bottleneck in my hardware, I monitored my GPU, CPU and RAM usage while "playing" the game. I've reset all settings to default, with no visible changes to the lagging. So basically everywhere.Īfter fiddling with the settings and following guides to configure dolphin optimal, the lagging does not improve. The lagging happens during the startup of the game while navigating the menu's and while playing levels. I'm quite new to emulators, but I'm pretty sure that if MKW could run in dolphin, my laptop would be able to handle it. The slow game speed might be the cause of the distorted sound. The graphics run about half as slow as they should (on steady 30fps). The sound is laggy and sounds very, very distorted. I've downloaded the dolphin emulator so that I could take Mario Kart Wii with me when traveling using my gaming laptop.
